13,14 & 15th August 2010  MOSTA

All the outdoor festivities of St.Mary in Mosta were cancelled following the fireworks explosion at the "15 ta' Awissu" fireworks complex in Dwejra. Mario Dimech, 41, lost his life in the accident. On the 17-8-10 the funeral started with a cortège down Main Street Mosta and  at 8:30am requiem mass at Rotunda Parish Church.

St. Mary School of Music:

Those who wish to learn a musical instrument, either e-mail us, or visit the St. Mary Band club on Tuesdays from 7:00pm till 8:30pm. Lessons are free of charge.                                                       Music lessons are being held every Tuesday and Saturday thanks to our music teachers Mro. C. Mizzi and Mro. J. Sultana. 

"Santa Marija" Band  (May - August 2010)

The "SANTA MARIJA" Band played band marches and musical programs in the following feasts: Holy Trinity, Marsa - St.Joseph, Ghaxaq - Sacred Heart of Jesus, Mosta - Burmarrad - Sacred Family, Bidnija - St. Venera -St. Paul's Bay - Fgura - and  in St. Bartholomeo in Gharghur.

"Santa Marija" Fireworks Complex

Firework displays 2010: Though the grand firework displays planed for this year's feast were cancelled, the "SANTA MARIJA" fireworks complex manufactured fireworks for various towns and villages in Malta. Amongst which there are Bidnija, St. Venera, Manikata, Sliema, Isla, Mellieha and Zabbar.

The St. Mary Youth Band, which consists of our music students, will perform its annual 'Saggio' in Mosta.

10 Years Ta' L-Istilla Youth Section: As part of the celebrations of the 10th. Anniversary of the “Ta’ L-Istilla” youth section, within our Society, the members donated a ‘Mosta flag’, which measures 26 x 40 feet, for the club’s main flagpole. Mario and Steven, which are two local bandsmen with our same Society, were commissioned by this section to be responsible for both the design and the making of the flag.

This flag was another great success as it was the Major Flag done by Jeffrey Galea, another active member within our Society, in 2005 for the great celebrations done for the 100 anniversary of our Society. Click to view the works photos.
